Larry Dierker’s best game 9/13/69

In September 1969, the Houston Astros were in the thick of the National League West race, 3-1/2 games behind the Atlanta Braves. OTD they faced the Braves in Atlanta, with Larry Dierker taking the mound in this critical game. He was also trying for his 20th win, and he pitched what he feels is the best game of his career, though the Astros lost 3-2 in 13 innings.

Larry was happy to look back on this game — one that he considers to be a pivotal moment in Astros history.
